We are a team of passionate engineers working on latest technologies; making direct/in-direct contributions to Sony’s products such as TV, PlayStation, Professional Camcorders, Imaging Devices, Media players, Mobile phones, Home entertainment systems, and much more. SARD’s strong technology acumen and expertise helps Sony products in accelerating the time to market for our innovative product line and associated services.

SARD has strong relationship with various product groups that handle most of Sony’s products that you see in the market. In addition, SARD is also collaborating with Sony’s R&D organizations to develop key technologies for Sony’s future products.

SARD primarily works on Core Common Technologies that are used in Sony Products and Services, From backend drivers to front-end applications and solutions.

Our key technologies include Operating Systems such as Linux, Android, Game OS and ROS, Multimedia and Imaging technologies, AV Codecs, Network middleware and Protocols, Product Security, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Testing frameworks AND Application technologies including Web/Cloud computing platforms.

Global Information Systems and Communication India (GISC-IN) is a part of Global Information Systems organization, with the focus on building IT platforms and applications which support the business enterprises of Sony. This unit enables business transformation, consolidation, standardization and process harmonization of critical business functions such as Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain & logistics, Engineering, Factory, HR, legal, Finance, Treasury, etc. in addition to ensuring to keep the technology landscape current.

We also use cutting edge technologies such as Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics process automation, Blockchain etc. to introduce and enhance better customer experience, increase customer touch points, improve sales and productivity.

We are a team of young, dynamic and innovative people with a mission to make a big difference to our enterprise through our depth of technology expertise and a very good understanding of Sony’s business operations and processes.

Information Security is a critical function that works 24*7 to protect Sony’s businesses. We work on technologies that help us to proactively identify risks, ensure our systems and applications are secure, enable our employees to be aware of the impending threats and reducing the impact created by varying threat landscape.

Information Security works on emerging security areas comprising of Data encryption, Endpoint compliance, Email protection, Next Gen Perimeter security, Threat monitoring to fundamental security areas like Anti-Malware, Vulnerability Management, Incident Management, Network Security, Data Leakage Prevention, Security Operations Centre. Teams also provide consultancy in areas of Risk Management, Penetration Testing, Cloud Security, Data analytics on security specific use cases.

Digital Transformation India (DX-IN) is a part of Global Digital & Technology Platform (D&TPF) entity. D&TPF acts as a business enabler, using data, technology and solutions to accelerate business growth and Group synergies, while also focusing on the realization of the engagement platform. DX-IN aims to seamlessly connect customers and creators, contributing to the overall growth of the Sony Group. We will strengthen the common technologies and IT environments shared across the Sony Group to increase efficiencies and unlock potential. We work on technology exploration to PoCs, design and implementation of projects for business adoption and transition to BAU (operations) in a seamless manner.

ISBL

DX-IN is a relatively new team with a vision to Explore, Co-create and Productize innovative solutions to accelerate Digital Transformation and it's promotion in Sony. By effectively combining our Deep Tech, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Science and domain knowledge, we pave the way for future innovation and growth. We aim to excel by learning rapidly, collaborating and delivering in a timely manner.

We are steadily moving towards the right balance of new Tech Exploration, Prototyping with PoC's and Productizing with BAU support. We work on AI/ML, GenAI, NLP, Data Engineering, Cognitive automation, Computer Vision to build digital experiences and navigate business on new technology.

Sony Research India (SRI)

At SRI, our goal is “Value focused R&D” that empowers the imagination and creativity of artists, makers, scientists and creators. Through a combination of fundamental research and applied innovation in the fields of AI & ML, we aim to impact creators and their creations by forging deep collaborations with academic and industry partners in the field of entertainment.

Through innovations in Speech and Language, we are revolutionizing intelligent content localization through AI-driven translation and dubbing technologies, powered by breakthroughs in large language models, speech processing, and multimodal AI. We are transforming how media content is created, understood, localized, and experienced. Our focus is on enabling deeper media understanding, improving accessibility, and expanding how audiences engage with content across languages and cultures by combining strong research foundations with practical deployment.

Using data generated by the entertainment ecosystems and state-of-the-art AI technologies we are understanding, predicting and enhancing User Engagement with entertainment content, thus helping creators understand their customers better and enabling organizations to become data-driven companies. Our work focuses on two key goals: improving user experience and retention and enhancing content for deeper engagement. We are developing a User Engagement Foundation Model that will optimize real-time recommendation, customer segmentation, hyper-personalization and churn prevention.
